Air to water heat pump systems extract hot air from the atmosphere and transfer it into water that is stored in a reservoir. They have become increasingly popular across Europe and Ireland. Two styles of air to water heat pumps are available in Ireland: ground source heat pumps and portable indirect air heat pump (MOHPs). Ground source heat pumps are installed underground, while MOHPs are usually installed on-site. In Air to Water heat pump systems, the temperature inside the home stays approximately the same. With standard water heat pump systems, outside temperatures can vary significantly from time to time. For instance, during the summer months, temperatures in the outside environment can go from extremely hot to extremely cold, making the cost of heating on a regular basis somewhat higher. On the flip side, Air to Water heat pump suppliers only heat water in the outdoors, therefore the outside environment doesn't change. This means that your costs come down over time and you save money on your heating and cooling bills.
