What Is a Micro Podcast?

Micro podcasts are a great way to make short, snappy audio podcasts. Micro podcasts are like regular ones, but they're broken up into micro-downloads instead of actual ones. In other words, you can make one of these short podcasts and play it on your computer or iPod for listening on the go. You can also download them straight from iTunes for playback on your I Devices. In addition, if you have more than one podcast player, then micro-downloads make it easier to switch between players with a short switch.

Micro podcasts use something called a short-form audio file. A short-form audio file is a file that has been trimmed to the point where it's only about 4 seconds long. This makes for an easily downloadable podcast loaded onto iTunes and played without any formatting issues. It also means that the podcast will download much quicker if you have a fast internet connection because everything is compressed.

The format used for making short-form audio podcasts is quite simple - each podcast comes with its MP3 audio file, which can be played using whatever player you have installed. So if you have a specific podcast player, such as Apple iTunes, you'll be able to hear it. If you have a different player, such as a Windows Media Player, you'll only hear the audio part of the podcast. Of course, if your music device isn't powerful enough to play podcasts, you can always convert your music into a podcast first.

If you want to convert your music into a podcast, there are a few different ways you can do this. First, you could purchase a program to convert your music. There are plenty of these available for download online, and most come with fantastic user interfaces to guide you through the process. Or perhaps you can find someone who has made a podcast conversion program for those of you who don't want to spend the money. Once you have the program installed and running, you can easily make many audio podcasts on demand.

Making short-form audio podcasts is similar to creating short audio files from other software like Microsoft PowerPoint or Corel Draw. The difference is that you can now add metadata to your podcasts to help people find your podcast later. This means that instead of being left in the obscurity of random file sharing sites, your podcast will be seen by people who want to listen to it. This is an outstanding feature for social networking sites, where people might want to find out more about your podcast.

If you want your podcast to be out for the world to hear, you need to make sure that it's ready before uploading it to the Internet. Podcasts, which are submitted to RSS directories, are unlikely to be picked up by search engines. Since micro podcast files are still considered relatively new on the Internet, search engines might take a while to index them. So you should always be prepared to spend some time getting your podcast indexed by search engines if you want to have any chance of getting it seen by people.

Now that your podcast is ready, you need to decide what to do with it. You could give it away as a free podcast, but doing that would mean you would need to spend a lot of time adding content, which could take a lot of time. Or you could sell advertising space on your podcast, but if you do that, you'll need to find a way of collecting payments since most people will not spend money to watch your podcast. Again, there are options available, but you'll have to do your research first.

Micro podcasts are an exciting new technology that is just starting to grow in popularity. If you create your podcast, you can ensure that it will be around for many years to come. Just remember to spend a little time ensuring that your podcast is ready and that you'll have visitors who will enjoy it. Once you have a few patrons, you may even find that it becomes a lucrative business opportunity.
