Education is an important factor in the development and growth of any nation. It’s an essential tool that provides information, skills, and it also allows people to know their rights and responsibilities towards the nation. It’s significant to earn an education, so one can move strongly in the competitive world.

When it comes to education, Saudi Arabia knows well how important it is to teach its people. Education is the major sector in Saudi Arabia that receives the most funding from the government. The main objective of their educational policy is that education becomes more prominent, meets the religious, financial, and social demands of the country, and eliminates illiteracy among Saudi people. The Ministry of education sets the standards of the country’s education system.

Primary Education:

From primary education to high school education, it's open and free for all. If parents want to send their children to kindergarten for early education they can. At the age of 6, it is compulsory to take admission to a primary school. Islamic education is a must along with the basic language, math, and physical education.

Middle Education:

A student must attend intermediate education. This level consists of 3 academic years.

Secondary Education:

This level is based on 3 academic years. In this stage of education, students have the option to continue their general education or switch to specialized education at a technical institute. Agriculture and industrial institutes also offer high school education.

Higher education:

In KSA, there are 24 government universities present that offers degrees in the field of medicine, pharmacy, engineering, IT, etc. The bachelor’s stage is free for the regular students, citizens, and external scholarship students. Then comes the Masters and Ph.D. which are based on 2 and 3 academic years. For taking admission to Saudi universities, a student must pass an aptitude test.

In Saudi Arabia, there are plenty of universities that stand among the top international universities of the world. The top 3 are:

1.      King Abdul Aziz University:

King Abdul Aziz University was established in 1967 and around 82,000 students are studying. The campus for both men and women are separate. The university offer degree in the field of engineering, agriculture, pharmacy, art and design, law, etc.

2.      King Fahd University of petroleum and minerals:

Despite its name, it also offers courses in various subjects that include engineering, science, and business. The rank of the university in the QS world ranking is 186 and ranked 4th in the QS Arab region universities.

3.      KING SAUD UNIVERSITY

King Saud University offers courses in the field of mechanical engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy. Around 51,000 students are currently studying at the university. The rank of the university is 287 in the QS world ranking.

Learning For All:

Students from other countries are also welcomed by the KSA. They can take admission to government universities after completing the requirements set by the ministry of education. Saudi Arabia has also an online education system that allows them to learn from the comfort of their home.
