The Birth Plan: 5 Reasons to Write One

That's it, you are pregnant! You feel joy in the face of this event that you have been waiting (perhaps) for so long ... Very quickly, the question of childbirth arrives on the table! Whether this is your first, second or third baby to come, you don't really know what to expect because you are going to give birth to this baby once!

You may be asking yourself a thousand and one questions: What will happen to me? Will I get there? What if it doesn't turn out the way I imagine…?

Depending on the experience, and often when it is bad, some women may stay with a bitter taste of their childbirth experience without really knowing why ... So, when they hear positive childbirth stories, it can sound like a failure in their own experience ...

"Ooh if I had known! I didn't know we could do that… I had so much pain staying in bed all the work…! Nobody explained anything to me…”

When I hear this reflection “if I had known”, I can perceive nostalgia and also regret in the eyes of mothers or couples that I meet and with whom I talk.

The 5 reasons for writing about postpartum plan is:

  • The birth plan allows you not to miss your childbirth
  • The birth plan allows you to define how you want to welcome your baby on Earth.
  • The birth plan helps you make your own choices, by being supported
  • Separate wish and reality
  • Respect for each other
