Required documents for VETASSESS skill assessment:
The following list is of the documents required for the assessment. The documents you provide have to be color copies of the original documents. If they are not in English, you have to submit copies of the original documents along with English translations done by a registered translation service provider. Now, let’s know the documents:
1. Application fee: you need to pay the required application fee when submitting your application. The application fees also include GST if you are an Australian resident for tax reasons.
2. Photo: you need to provide your latest color passport-sized photo. It mustn’t be older than six months. Remember the self-taken photos are not acceptable.
3. ID proof: From the 15th of June, as identify proof, you need to give at least one form of primary document and two others from the given list.
A minimum of one of the given documents:
Passport bio page
Birth certificate
And
A minimum of one or more secondary documents
The secondary form of ID that can be acceptable may have, but not limited to:
Driving license
National ID
Marriage certificate
Social security card
Australian visa
Student identify card
You also need to make sure that one of your identification documents has your photo, and a minimum of one of your ID documents has your complete name and date of birth.
You also need to read and sign the declaration on the application form for confirmation that the information provided by you is true and correct. You also acknowledge by signing it that you have a clear idea of how personal information will be managed by VETASSESS.
If having a nominated agent or lawyer to act on behalf of you, then you must include their name, signature, and the signing date in your signed declaration form for VETASSESS skill assessment.
4. Name change proof
If applicable, you need to provide proof of your name change to remove any inconsistencies in the documents you provide.
5. Qualification proof for VETASSESS skill assessment
Your qualification proof must consist of your qualification award certificate along with academic transcripts
To determine your eligibility for Priority Processing, VETASSESS has to decide whether your qualifications can be compared to the Australian Qualifications Framework as given in the Australian Government’s published Country Education Profiles (CEPs). if your qualifications need in-house evaluation, your application will be ineligible for Priority Processing.
Award certificate:
The award certificate is the official document that confirms that you have completed an award course of study. If having not got your qualification award certificate, a provisional award certificate given by the awarding authority or an official statement of completion given by the Registrar’s unit of the award-issuing institution will be acceptable.
Academic Transcript:
You need to give the authority your complete academic transcript for a proper VETASSESS skill assessment. A transcript is an official record from the institution providing information about the courses or units of study and the final marks or grades attained as part of your academic qualification. I attended a college that is affiliated with the award-giving institution, then the award has to be given by the awarding institution that is allowed to award the qualifications.
If your transcripts don’t give enough information about the units of study you took, you need to give extra proof like a course syllabus to clarify this. You can also provide detailed information regarding your major projects and other important features of your studies in your resume.
6. Employment proof for VETASSESS Skill Assessment
It is a must for you to give the necessary employment proof for each employment position in the list of your formal skills assessment application.
To decide your eligibility for Priority Processing, the VETASSESS authority has to determine if your employment claims can be verified within ten days. So, make sure that you have all the necessary proof given in the list below when you apply for Priority Processing.
Statement of Service:

A written statement is called a Statement of Service given by your employer confirming the employment on official letterhead. The official letterhead must include the company’s complete address details, email, telephone, and web addresses. The letter content must be signed by your direct supervisor or the manager of the HR department.
The following items must be included in the Statement of Service:
· the company letterhead
· issue date for the Statement of Service
· your complete name
· per week work hours
· the exact employment in each position took
· the official position had at the company or organization
· duty descriptions for the position you had
· the salary you earned
· Full name, the title of the position, official contact details, and signature of the person who wrote the statement of service (references from workmates at the same level or below are unacceptable. Your referee can be contacted for additional or further information.
Proof of payment:
One of the following items can be included as payment evidence for VETASSESS skill assessment:
Payslips (first and last payslip)
Taxation Records of Assessment (having applicant and company name)
Bank Statements that can show a minimum of two-year salary payments, your name, and the employer’s name
Employment-linked insurance/ superannuation record (with applicant and company name).
