Individuals can increase their consumption of antioxidants by eating lots of colorful fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and whole grains.


Other sources of antioxidants include beta-carotene, which is found in carrots, oranges, and dark leafy greens. These can improve the health and play a vital role in vision, immunity, and bone health. Moreover, antioxidants contain various nutrients that are essential for the human body such as vitamin A, vitamin E, and vitamin C. Antioxidants can be synthetic or natural. Natural antioxidants are obtained entirely from natural sources and are widely used in cosmetic, food, and pharmaceutical industry. Whereas, synthetic antioxidants are created from chemical processes. A diet high in antioxidants may reduce the risk of several diseases, including heart disease and certain types of cancer.
