Many people get scared from the beginning when they find out about cholesterol. However, experts say that high cholesterol is not terrible for the body. There are basically two types of cholesterol in the human body. These are 'High Density Lipoprotein' or 'HDL' and 'Low Density Lipoprotein' or 'LDL'.


Here, the first is called good cholesterol and the second is destructive to the body. According to experts, uncontrolled lifestyle and bad eating habits can create this second type of cholesterol level.


Smoking:


Smoking not only damages the lungs, but also raises the levels of unsafe cholesterol. Moreover, smoking lowers HDL levels. The danger is much greater, especially for women. What's more, smoking causes blood circulation problems which can increase cholesterol problems.



Fatness:


If the Body Mass lndex (BMI) is 30 or higher, the risk of cholesterol increases. As well as being overweight, diabetes can lead to heart problems. Having such problems with high cholesterol greatly increases the risk of death. According to experts, weight loss can reduce the problem of cholesterol.

Drinking Alcohol:


Alcohol can drastically increase cholesterol levels. Regular drinking increases triglyceride levels at an alarming rate. This is especially true for those who have pancreatic and liver problems. In women, high triglycerides greatly increase the risk of stroke.


Eating Habits:


Research from Harvard University says that red and processed meats, which are high in fat, increase cholesterol levels. On the other hand, oats and walnuts should be eaten to control cholesterol. Fish can also be eaten. However, not all cholesterol-rich foods are bad. For example, egg contains high in cholesterol. But it also contains a lot of protein and other essential nutrients.


Lack of Exercise:


There is actively a cyclical relationship between laziness and high cholesterol. If one increases, the other will also increase. It is possible to reduce cholesterol levels through regular exercise. Exercise also controls obesity. And exercise means not only gym, but also regular walking, cycling and swimming can also help to control cholesterol.
