Heads of WHO, the Ministry of Health of Qatar, FIFA and the Supreme Council for Delivery and Legacy (SC) gather to convene the Health FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar - Creating a Legacy for Sport and Health Partners First meeting from the Partnership Steering Committee Launched at the end of 2021, the partnership aims to:

• Building on the measures taken during the FIFA Arab Cup at the end of 2021, reinforce preparation for health disasters and ensure that preventive measures are maintained to contain to keep people safe including COVID-19 and healthy communicable diseases;

• Deliver healthy food in stadiums and supporter regions;

• Strengthening tobacco prevention efforts in stadiums, supporter’s areas and other areas;

• Enter into cooperation deals with countries to benchmark heritage building activities, and

• Exchange of lessons learned with the IOC in Paris 2024 and Milano Cortina 2026.

As part of the contract, two SC legacy projects B4Development (B4D) and Generation Amazing will provide operational and practical partnerships across a range of programs. Generation Amazing is a football for improvement program that has definitely wedged more than 725,000 people worldwide since its launch during Qatar's bid to host the FIFA World Cup, and B4D is the areas first promoting unit' to promote interactive science used to address the range of social problems it poses.

SC Secretary-General Hassan Al Thawadi told: “As the host of the FIFA World Cup, Qatar is committed to underscoring the importance of leaving behind a lasting and transformative social legacy to improve the lives of Qatar, our region and across the world improve the world."

WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr Ahmed Al-Mandhari emphasized the organization's commitment to promoting health for all in the region and said the WHO-Qatar partnership would improve physical activity, mental health and organized sport.
