It’s not the quantity, but the quality!

The Word length is always a subject of confusion for bloggers. Presently most of them believe that it is the number of words that boosts the whole ranking. But is there any kind of truth in it?

The answer is a pretty big “NO”.Let us see how

Recently a study has been conducted by taking certain industrial blogs as samples. The industries were :

 Automobile

● E-Commerce

● Education

● Real Estate

● Retail

● Travel

● Hospitality

1000 blogs belonging to these genres were cross-examined in detail regarding their quality and quantity. The result came out accordingly and contained a bit of a surprise that no blogs among these genres contained words more than 900. Also, they weren’t micro-detailed too. Isn’t it amazing?

What is the fact

Presently, Google is not relying on the number of words to determine the ranking. Instead, they are focusing on proper keyword distribution and relatability. The posts are analyzed on the basis of the need, content, and comprehension.

Nowadays a lot of blogs and descriptions are created across the globe based on the same topic. Therefore, google compares the uploading creation with the best-ranked content previously and ranks it accordingly. Most probably content that is easy-peasy will get promoted more than complicated ones.

What about the backlinks?

Coming to the insertion of backlinks, a word length of articles with more than 1000 has a chance to get more. But any article with more than 1000 words whether it is 2000 or 5000 gets the same chance for it.

Then let us discuss the traffic rate

Other than the entertainment industry, no one needs the content of more than 1500 words. Especially education genre content only gets promoted if it is below 500 words.

From the above facts, it is pretty clear that traffic rate is purely dependent on the genre and the clickbait provided.

Social media shares and their importance

Shares generated via social media are also significant, which increases traffic indirectly and leads to great ROI. In this context too, the word length is less important to content strength. Sharing rate is highly proportional to the quality of content the blog pursues.

So, what is the conclusion?

It is not about the word count, but the way the blog is structured. Inserting keywords backlinking, adding appropriate numbers, etc are the only way to make it search engine friendly. Make it reader-friendly and visually attractive. So before making the content an ocean, think twice and shrink it to a pool.
