Steps to Fix a Leaking Shower Using Megatreat Shower Sealers

Fixing a leaking shower is incredibly simple. To fix it, you can use supplies from your neighbourhood hardware store. However, we recommend using high-quality Megatreat shower sealers available in Sydney for a non-messy and quick application. Using a paintbrush, you can easily apply the shower sealer to the tiles and grout. For this, you don’t have to remove the tiles. You can fill in the grout, and your job is done. To make shower sealing even easier, you can follow this step-by-step guide. Read on.

The Materials You’ll Need

1. Megatreat Shower Leak Sealer: You can choose from Gloss Sealer, Satin Sealer, and Natural Look Sealer

2. Brush: We recommend you use natural bristled brushes since synthetic or plastic brushes can leach colours.

3. Spare Cloth: Use a rag or cloth that can easily absorb

4. Detergent: For cleaning the surface, you can use bleach, vinegar, or detergent.

Optional supplies in the case of grout repairs

1. You can use a grout saw, multi-tool attachment, or any other sharp tool to scrape the grout.

2. Regular superfine grout or sand cement grout.

3. Silicone-made joint sealant

Preparing the area for the process

Grout Sealing

First, you must fix any fissures or cracks in the grout that are wider than a hairline. If the grout is in good shape, you can skip this step.

Damaged grout repairing

Patch any holes or cracks in the grout using regular superfine or sand cement grout as directed on the packaging.

If the grout is seriously damaged, remove it. In this situation, you can use different power tools. A grout rake or other similar metal tool would do the job. Vaccum or sweep the dust after removing the old grout and before applying the new grout.

Give the grout time to dry thoroughly. This task will take at least four hours to finish.

Cleaning

Use vinegar, detergent, or bleach to scrub away any grime, mould, or other particles, then allow the surface to air dry. Apply the Megatreat shower sealer to a dry and clean surface.

Steps to Apply Megatreat Shower Sealer for Shower Sealing

If you want to fix the leak, waterproof the tiles and grout. For this, use Megatreat shower sealer. Pour it into a tray or a bucket to start.

1. Apply the shower sealer to the tiles with a brush with natural bristles. Give it five minutes to settle down.

2. Apply the same area with a second coat and give it another 5 minutes to settle down.

3. Use the clean cloth to remove any excess sealer from the previous application.

4. Give 12 hours for the Megatreat shower sealer to work before using the shower again.

*To ensure complete satisfaction, we recommend you apply the shower sealer to another surface before using it.

Post Application

Place a silicone strip between the wall and the floor. But carefully follow the directions on the packaging before application. The proper application would help in preventing further cracks because of structural movement. Upon completion of the entire treatment, the joint should look fantastic!

That’s it! You get a shower that is entirely water-repellent, mould-resistant, and easier to clean when the sealer completely dries. Rest assured that your shower will remain in good condition for years.
