Know Why Authentic Vintage Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Are Valuable

This brand's vacuums can last a half-century if it is not longer — and they're in high demand on the resale market. Until Dyson broke into the American market in the 1990s, these simple workhorses were considered cutting-edge. As bagless vacuums grew more popular, earlier versions, such as Kirby's G Series, began to appear on the secondary market. The G Series was produced during the 1990s and the 2000s. In addition, as I always quip, these machines were constructed with more metal than the majority of brand-new automobiles. They are large and powerful, and they last forever and are important for vintage vacuum cleaner collectors.

Kirby's G Series consisted of six models:

G3 G4 G5 Gsix Ultimate G (also known as the G7) Ultimate G Diamond Edition

To call Kirby "thorough" would be an understatement. G Series machines come with an amazing array of attachments, neatly grouped in a plastic caddy approaching the size of the vacuum itself. Extenders, nozzles, and brushes were given by the firm to clean every nook and cranny possible.

Why should you purchase it?

Kirby has always struck me as the vintage Volvo of vacuum cleaners – not attractive, but it gets the job done with little fuss year after year. Any Kirby G Series vacuum in good operating shape is a terrific buy at thrift shop pricing ranging from $15 to $35. Sure, you'll have to change the belt once or twice, but they're just around a dollar apiece. After all, wouldn't it be nice to have a machine that will survive long enough for anything to wear out?

Although Kirby was never as innovative as Dyson in terms of design, the G Series brought substantial upgrades over previous models, including HEPA filtration. Noise reduction options were included in the Ultimate G Diamond Edition.

G Series vacuums are constantly in high demand, which will please resellers. Remember This Photos is also offering a vacuum cleaner for $750 to collectors.

What to seek for

Kirby G Series vacuum cleaners have a unique flared "fork" – an extended handle structure that supports the machine's body. The model name is printed on the bag and along the fork. Although all G Series vacuums are popular, the Ultimate G and Ultimate G Diamond Edition versions have an especially strong resale market. A machine that has a carpet wash system (an unusual extra) is very attractive.

Perform a fast quality check on all home devices before purchasing. Make certain that:

  • The cable is not broken.
  • There are attachments.
  • When the vacuum is turned on, the cylindrical brush beneath the nozzle head freely spins.

If you smell a small burning odor while evaluating a machine, don't turn around. This is a frequent sign that the vacuum's belt has been caught or damaged. Replacement belts are simple to obtain online and install yourself.
