Tips On How To Scan Images Well

avatar

The advancement of technology makes it easy to convert files, data, and other media formats for electronic usage. Although scanners are affordable, scanning high-quality photos requires more than basic computer knowledge. There are many additional factors you need to consider in order for scans to be of good quality.

1. You must make sure that the image file is small enough to be easily downloaded by your viewers if you plan to scan it for online use (such as on your website). Images posted on the Internet are typically scanned at 72 dots per inch. To get the best detail, scan images on the Internet at 72 dpi. To produce images that are similar to film prints, fine photography or large-format photo printing, you need to scan images at least 1,200 dots per inch.

2. Smudges, dirt and dust build up over time. To ensure the best image scans possible, clean the scanner frequently. Wipe the glass with a damp cloth and then clean the pictures using a dry, clean cloth.

3. Depending on the purpose and function of the image, you may need to shrink or blow up its size. You can increase the resolution of the scanner to make the image larger. However, if you wish to reduce the size of the image, scan it at low resolution.

4. Save the image as a.tiff file to ensure that the image quality is maintained throughout editing and printing. TIFF images are not suitable for many Internet applications. If you plan to store large scanned images on your computer, they will be great for editing and maintaining.
