Antony is ready to join Manchester United for 100 million euros

Manchester United are looking forward to the meeting held by the Ajax board regarding Antony's transfer move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have claimed they want to sign two Forwards and Goalkeeper before the summer transfer window closes their doors shut the next week, so time is short and the club will need to hustle to secure some players.

During the week, it was stated that Manchester United would come back with an improved offer of 90 million euros to Ajax to finally land the 22-year-old but when they did the Eredivisie side again, rejected.

As a consequence, Antony spoke out in an interview with Fabrizio Romano saying that Ajax knew about his desire to leave since February and are trying to hold him against his will.

Erik Ten Hag wants Antony and currently, his signing is a priority as Anthony Elanga [the active United Right-winger] is not performing as the Dutchman would wish.

According to reports from Simon Jones from outlet Daily Mail, Manchester United are awaiting the outcome of a board meeting at Ajax before making their next move for Antony.

Ajax expects the Red Devils to return with another offer that equals a package of 100 million euros to let Antony go for the Premier League.

The Old Trafford side does not have many options on their cards as things stand, the new offer will need to be sent out as soon as tomorrow for the 22-year-old to be able to play for Manchester United against Leicester City next Thursday.

Antony is close to becoming a new Manchester United player, as the Red Devils have reportedly raised their offer from 90 million euros to 100m euros.

His signing could be made official in the next few hours. In fact, Antony was not called up for and did not play a single minute in Ajax's 2-0 win over Utrecht, nor did he participate in the previous game against Sparta Rotterdam.

"I hope Ajax fans understand me, because the future of a footballer is totally uncertain and the opportunities can be unique," Antony told ESPN NL, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

"I am not asking Ajax to release me, I am asking them to sell me with the highest offer ever for an Eredivisie player.

"I have been insisting on this issue since February so that the club can rebuild the team with peace of mind."

His current coach, Alfred Schreuder, expressed his frustration about the potential departure of Antony, who will become the most expensive signing this summer after Aurelien Tchouameni's move to Real Madrid for 80m euros.

"It's all about money and I think it's sad," the Dutchman told ESPN.

"But it's our world. It's sad and I don't approve of this kind of thing."

Should they sell Antony, Ajax will have earned a total of 221.07m euros this summer following the departures of Lisandro Martinez, Sebastien Haller, Ryan Gravenberch, Perr Schuurs and Nicolas Tagliafico.

Antony will be reunited with Erik Ten Hag, becoming Manchester United's fifth signing this summer after Tyrell Malacia (15m euros), Christian Eriksen (free), Lisandro Martinez (57.37m euros) and Casemiro (70.65m euros).

The 13-time Premier League Champions were not going to walk away from the deal after offering 90 million euros for the Forward and receiving a rejection from the Dutch side.

Of course, this denial from the Eredivisie club brought bad consequences for the Brazilian as he was desperate to leave Ajax to join Manchester United.

The number 11 gave an interview to Fabrizio Romano about the current situation with his club not letting him go. To what Antony said he advised the Dutch Champions to prepare for his departure.

The Brazilian International called in advance that he wanted to move to the Premier League for bigger challenges and that now it is not an excuse for Ajax to say they do not have time to replace him.

After finding out about the negative response from Ajax the Right-winger has not reported for training and did not participate in the fixture against Utrecht today.

Manchester United football director John Murtough arrived at Amsterdam to seal the deal for Antony today as the Dutch club sees themselves in the obligation to sell the Winger.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Diario AS, Antony will play for Manchester United. The Eredivisie side had rejected a 90 million euros offer yesterday as they claimed the price tag for Antony was 100 million euros.
