The Manaslu Himal and the high valley were closed to the outside world for long decades. From 1992 onwards, flung its door open for foreign visitors but remains a restricted area. Due to its close border with Tibet / China, a special permit is required to enter the high Manaslu valley.

An exciting country to visit and explore, where trekkers can experience great bio-diversity of landscapes, climate, vegetation, and cultures. The name Manaslu is quite interesting, derived from ancient Sanskrit meaning the soul or mind of god and holy spirits. While the local native of Manaslu calls Kutang, a land of beauty and paradise that comes from the Tibetan language.

The adventure begins after driving from Kathmandu to the starting point of the trek from the low farm country of the Gorkha district. Following the raging Buri-Gandaki River upstream towards high green hills and nice rural villages, enter scenic high Manaslu Valley. The walk follows through beautiful terrains lined with towering peaks of Manaslu, Himal Chuli, Ngadi Chuli, and Sringi Himal 7,187 m. Staying overnights in the lovely villages of Lo and Sama-Gaon, spending extra days for acclimatization and exploring its viewpoints. Walk follows at the end of Manaslu valley at Dharmasala or Phedi, the bottom of Larke-La Pass.

The next morning a big haul to the top of Lake-La Pass, the highest point of the adventure at 5,106 m. Rewards awesome panorama of a giant mountain range, and then on a long downhill to end the trek at Dharapani village.
