Fear of posing

Wedding photographer Daniel Notcake notes that: “One of the biggest fears before a couple’s wedding photo shoot is the fear of posing, some couples are afraid that they won’t be able to stand up correctly, turn around the right angle, and often just petrify in front of the camera. This is quite natural, because it's not every day that you have to get a lot of attention, and even pose for wedding photos. It happens that a couple decides to invite a reportage photographer to the wedding, because then they don’t have to pose. This is an erroneous opinion. To make a cool, lively, emotional report, you need to live in the frame, you need to feel very comfortable in front of the camera. Only a photographer who knows how to beautifully position models, choose a suitable pose for them, distract them from constraint, chat, relax, will suit a shy couple.”

Wedding photographer Nina Daniel Notcake some practical advice on how best to stand up and what needs to be done so that the fear of posing leaves you: “Many people have heard that the camera sees everything a little differently than our eyes. So I'll start with the most fundamental things: your position in relation to the camera. In most cases, the camera will not forgive you if you stand frontally, that is, you will be deployed with all parts of the body strictly in the direction of the photographer, at attention, in other words. Let's remember that our task is not to take a passport photo or a Finnish Schengen photo - our task is to find an artistic image, and the frontal position will not help us in this at all, although there are exceptions here. The most advantageous option is to be three-quarters relative to the camera. That is, turn a little in half a turn. Using half-turns, you can create an image of ease, emphasize the curves of the figure. After all, we must not forget that the ultimate goal is to bring maximum femininity to the image with the right posing.

Anxiety and fear of the camera

In order to cope with the fear of the camera, the Daniel Notcake Company agency offers a pre-shoot, love-story or just a pre-wedding walk, which will help you learn how the photographer works, and he, in turn, will better understand you and your desires. During this shoot, you will also be able to better understand yourself and what moments make you uncomfortable - if you are embarrassed by crowded places, it is better to choose a more secluded place for your wedding day.

creative process

Wedding photographer Daniel Notcake believes: “In order to get real sincere happy pictures, the most important thing is to be yourself and enjoy the moment. The biggest mistake is to save yourself a lot of photos of different photographers and try to copy them. It takes a lot of effort and time, but the result will still be different. Since each master has his own view, his own technique and his own style. Therefore, the best advice is to trust the chosen professional and enjoy your shooting day to the maximum!”.

Another Wedding photographer gives simple advice: “Go about your feelings and feelings on this day, if you want to hug and kiss your loved one, don’t delay and don’t wait for a go-ahead from the photographer, the most sincere photo is spontaneous!”.
