Solar Park in Dholera | Dholera Solar Power Plant

Solar Park in Dholera – The 5000 MW Dholera Solar Park, which is both the largest solar plant project in India and the globe, obtained approval from the state government earlier this year. The ambitious project would help Prime Minister Modi realize his goal of generating 175 Gigawatts of power from renewable sources by 2022. Gujarat is one of the much-anticipated cities to receive the coveted IGBC Platinum Award. Gujarat’s Dholera Special Investment Region [SIR] is meticulously planned to be a magnificent, clean, and green location where a healthy ecosystem may be developed with the least amount of carbon emissions. Dholera Solar Park Location –

The Dholera Solar Park will be placed in the Gujarati region of the Gulf of Khambhat on a piece of land that is designated as Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) type 1B. The 920km2 DSIR will be developed by the government-established Dholera Special Investment Regional Development Authority and includes 22 Gujarati villages (DSIRDA). It is adjacent to the Gujarati megacities of Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, and Vadodara and is well-linked by road, train, airport, and harbor. Due to its location in a low-lying area near the delta of five rivers—Padaliyo, Lilka, Utavali, Sukhbhadar, and Ker—the site has a high coastal vulnerability index. It is a strongly eroding, intertidal environment with corrosive air.

Dholera solar park details –

  • 8,595 acres will make up the solar park, which has been split into 11 blocks with 27 plots each.
  • GPCL is investing Rs5 billion ($695 million) in the first 1 GW phase, while SECI will invest an estimated Rs 20 billion ($2.7 billion) in the second 4 GW phase.
  • 100MW, 160MW, and 200MW capacity blocks will be included in each plot.
  • At the solar park, poly-crystalline silicon solar photovoltaic module technology will be used.
  • Due to the tidal and flood impact, the modules will be put at a pedestal height between 380mm and 450mm on a permanent and grouted plain cement concrete (PCC) foundation. The module will be supported and protected by silicon rubber edge sealing.
  • A little under 280Wp will be the highest module power rating, and the photoelectric conversion module efficiency will be higher than 15%.
  • Thermoplastic is used to make junction boxes.
