6 Things to Do in Pilanesberg Safari

Pilanesberg National Park is a paradise for nature lovers. This is the place where one can witness the majestic African animals in their natural habitat and this is why many people from different parts of the world flock here to witness the Pilanesberg SafariSince this national park is full of wild animals, it is quite interesting to watch them live and due to that, you need a certain type of vehicle that would rightly meet your adventure needs.

Here are the activities you can enjoy during your visit to Pilanesberg.

  • Guided safari

In the Pilanesberg, every lodge and resort offers accompanied game drives in the morning and the afternoon. Depending on the lodge you are staying at, your guide will bring you coffee and rusks in the morning and cool drinks and beer or wine for sundowners in the afternoon.

  • Guided bush walk

The majority of the resorts provide guided wilderness walks. These are incredibly interesting because they give you a completely new perspective on nature. Although you might come face to face with a rhino or a buffalo on these walks, the focus is more on the smaller details that you would overlook if you were to drive through the park.

  • Self-guided camp walk

There is a sizable enclosed area at Manyane Lodge where zebras, tsessebe, ostriches, wildebeest, impala, and warthogs can graze at will. There is no need to make reservations, and the information center has maps. We adore this walk because it allows us to get up close and personal with the animals. In the summer, you should bring a cap, cozy walking shoes, a water flask, and a camera, of course!

  • Picnic on the hills

There are primarily five picnic areas spread out around the park. Three of them are excellent because you are perched high on hills with stunning views of the plains or lake below. The other two are on Baile Drive, and one is a picnic area called Fish Eagle that looks out over the Mankwe Dam. All of the picnic areas are walled and include braai (barbeque) amenities, water, shade, and restrooms.

  • Bird watching

Seven hides are scattered throughout the park. Instead of spending hours traveling throughout the park, for us, the Pilanesberg is all about relaxing at these bird hides. If you visit these hides at the proper time of day, you can take some fantastic pictures. Rathlogo and Mankwe have excellent photographic lighting in the mornings, and Rathlogo and Mankwe are fantastic in the afternoons (Mankwe, Ruighoek, and Maltese). Every hide has a toilet and is securely fenced.

  • Elephant back safari

This is a thrilling journey! Three-hour safaris are available in the morning or the evening; one hour is spent riding on an elephant, and the other two hours are spent getting to know the elephants and enjoying a light champagne breakfast or sundowners with snacks. Imagine taking pictures of wildlife while riding an elephant!

These are the main activities that you are going to enjoy in Pilanesberg. This is the reason, you can get a lot of fun and adventure while you are planning for the Pilanesberg Safari. Since the vacation season approaches, it is best to opt for this safari in order to get the best experience.
