Specification and Application for Copper Nickel Pipes

About Copper Nickel 90/10 Pipes

The stainless steel alloy used to create 90/10 copper-nickel pipe tubes is composed of 90% copper and 10% nickel. Iron and manganese are also added in small but significant amounts to the 90/10 alloy to increase its overall strength and corrosion resistance.

Nickel and other reinforcing elements like manganese and iron are present in the copper-nickel 90/10 pipe and tubes. The copper-nickel alloy 09/10 has a lower resistivity and can withstand temperatures of up to 300 °C. Cu-Ni pipes are utilized because they offer higher protection against erosion and all types of corrosion, including corrosion brought on by impingement.

Specification of Copper Nickel Pipe

Copper Nickel Pipe Specifications have wrought alloys that have 90% copper and 10% nickel in their composition, along with other trace elements. This combination helps improve the strength of the metal.

Due to their great toughness and ductility, these wrought alloys are frequently utilized in naval, architectural, and industrial applications. They are a well-liked option for anti-biofouling systems and provide great resistance to erosion and corrosion in seawater.

The metals are resistant to a wide range of chemicals and have good strength and tensile properties. They are also suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications.

The main applications for the engineering grades 90-10 and 70-30 copper-nickel alloys are in seawater piping, heat exchangers, and condensers. They are also used in thermal desalination, offshore oil and gas production, power generation, and commercial and naval shipping.

Applications of 90/10 Copper Nickel Pipes

Excellent resistance to seawater corrosion, improved resistance to erosion corrosion, and superior resistance to air-impingement attacks are all characteristics of copper-nickel 90/10 pipes and tubes. Along with applications in the pulp and paper industry, petrochemical sector, and energy production and transformation equipment, copper-nickel 90/10 pipes and tubes are used.

In marine services, offshore platform seawater pipes, desalination plants, tidewater power plants, and chemical process industries, including oil refineries, copper-nickel 90/10 is frequently utilized.

Condenser tubes and plates, tube sheets, distiller tubes, baffles for condensers and heat exchanger tubes, evaporators, saltwater pipelines, water boxes, ship hulls, and hot water tanks are only a few examples of the products' applications.
