3 Quick Closet Organization Tips You Won't Want to Miss

Many people across the country tend to have closets that are less than organized. Because the items in your closet can easily be hidden behind a closed door, closets tend to become our catch-all for all the random things we find ourselves purchasing from time to time, whether that be different articles of clothing, accessories, or more.

The problem lies in how you're going to store everything. A closet can only hold so much before it becomes a disorganized mess, so that begs the question: how can you organize your closet to make it look as neat as possible, even if you have a lot of stuff? Our Westwood apartments have a few tips you should check out!

Make Every Inch Count

When you're trying to organize your closet space, making sure that you can use every available bit of real estate in your closet is vital to your success. Of course, if you don't have to use all of the space in your closet, don't go out and buy more clothing just to fill up the empty spaces! However, if you do have a lot of things in your closet, then you might want to consider searching for more storage ideas.

One way to use up all of the available space is by using the back of your closet door. Get an over-the-door closet organizer or purchase small racks that you can install on the back of your door. Use this space to store items like accessories, belts, scarves, hats, and more. That way, they'll be in an easily accessible space without all the clutter in your closet.

Go Vertical

If there isn't any more room on the floor of your closet to place new items, then go vertical! The sides of dressers, blank spaces on walls, and more are all space-saving and innovative places to store some of your smaller accessories. Use small hooks to hang things like necklaces, hats, sunglasses, and more. Or, if you're running out of space in your closet, use the wall space in your bedroom. You can display your accessories like works of art on your wall, and no one will be the wiser.

Keep Your Shoes Off the Floor

Shoes are something that can take up a lot of unnecessary space. Shoes are big and bulky, and if you just have your shoes strewn along the floor of your closet, it can look like a massively disorganized mess.

By investing in some kind of shoe organization tool, you'll be able to keep the floor of your closet looking clean and organized. Shoe racks work extremely well for this purpose, as do over-the-door shoe organizers. The goal is to keep as many shoes off the floor as possible to maintain a cleaner look; these tools can help you achieve that.

Westwood Apartments

Here at Woodside Village, the majority of our Westwood apartments offer large walk-in closets, which makes organizing them a breeze! However, if you're the type to have a lot of clothing, keeping some of these organizational hacks in your back pocket isn't a bad idea!
