Education Is Integral For The Development Of All Children

Children benefit from a quality education by gaining skills, values, and knowledge, as well as by growing socially, emotionally, and creatively. It is essential for their intellectual and psychological growth, including the capacity for critical analysis and problem-solving. Regardless of gender, caste, or socioeconomic condition, every child should be able to attend school and finish their education.

The early years of a child's life lay the groundwork for the development of their future learning capacities. According to research, a child's brain develops to its full potential by the age of three, making early childhood education a crucial foundation for a child's promising life.

But the reality is that an estimated 46 million children between the ages of 6 and 18 do not attend school (source: RGI Census Population Projection 2016 and Unified DISE 2016–17). Many children never get the chance to go to school, while others drop out for a variety of reasons. Children are more susceptible to human trafficking, economic exploitation, sexual assault, and early marriage when they are not in school.

This got worse due to the closure of schools during the pandemic. To help address the learning crisis, CRY, NGO for children, established Academic and Psychological Support Centers to help children in several states get back into their academics and gain the confidence they need to return to school. These centres use interactive audio-visual platforms at their support classes and focus on raising children's motivation levels through enjoyable and artistic endeavours like storytelling, singing, dancing, etc. CRY centers also organise campaigns to raise awareness of the value of education for communities and parents, as well as ways to keep them safe from child labour and marriage.

CRY works to protect children's rights by helping them reconnect with their school education, thus giving them a brighter future; so far, it has reached over 30,000 children. You can donate for education in India to help make a difference in the lives of India’s children. Donate now and avail of a tax deduction under Section 80G on your donation.
