Packing an air conditioner is more than tossing it up in a box and sealing it. Though it’s not a huge deal to pack ACs, you should ensure to pack it in the right way. And here’re the 10 steps to pack your office air conditioners when moving:
1. If the air conditioner is directly wired, then switch OFF its circuit breaker. Now discharge the capacitor (the device that holds the extra charge to turn the motor ON) by following the directions of the manufacturers.
2. Before you remove the cover of the appliances, wipe the outer part of the window with a wet cloth. This’ll remove the dirt and prevent it from entering the internal parts.
3. Now remove the front cover of the AC. If you’ve to unscrew it for opening it, then ensure to keep the screws somewhere safe. Also, be careful around the metal grill if your AC has any.
4. Take out the dust and dirt from the sides and bottom of the unit using a vacuum cleaner. You can also use a damp rag to remove if there’s any remaining dirt.
5. Make sure that the unit is completely dry and then reassemble all the parts. Also, test the AC once by connecting it to the power. If there’s any dirt, wipe it up.

10. Now seal the boxes with packing tape and put “FRAGILE” and “APPLIANCES” labels on them. It’ll tell your movers to carefully load it onto the moving truck.
