We’ve seen quite a few beauty products come on the market promising to make your eyelashes longer and fuller, but very few of them have actually been tested. The exception to this is Latisse which has been FDA approved in the US to grow your eyelashes thicker and longer for those with sparse or diffused lashes. Latisse is a serum that contains the patented drug Bimatoprost 0.03% and it’s the same product made by Allergan who also produce Botox.

The product has been clinically proven in trials to be safe and effective and it can be used at home once a night just like your mascara. You’ll need to apply it to the base of your upper eyelashes only, avoiding contact with the lower lids or any other part of the eye area. The results can take a few weeks to be noticeable, but after a few months of continued use you’ll notice a real difference in your eyelash length and darkness.

Some people do experience red and itchy eyes when they first start using the treatment but this usually goes away as your body adjusts. However, if you are concerned talk to your doctor or pharmacist about it – they might be able to give you some advice on how to deal with this.

There are some concerns about pregnant women using this product as it is applied directly to the eye and so could potentially get into the bloodstream. This is why it’s important to tell your doctor if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding and they can advise you about whether it’s safe for you to continue using the product.bimatoprost eyelash serum uk
