Twitter and Other Companies Cost $5.3 for Unprotected Measures to User’s Privacy

8 social media applications were accused of compromising with the user privacy and details handling.

Even giant social media apps like Instagram and Twitter were not spared by the consumer for not protecting the user’s privacy.

They find an iOS feature integrated with these apps ‘Find Friends’ which automatically uploads the user’s contact list on the companies serve without any legal consent.

The 8 apps include Twitter, Instagram, Yelp, Foursquare, Kik, Foodspotting, Gowalla, and Path.

All these apps need to compensate the consumers with the amount of $5.3.

These companies gave almost for five years to convince the judge that it was necessary to upload contact list for the feature to work.
