Hybrid Clubs; The Ultimate Win-Win

Golf is an old game but it hasn’t lost its charm. If anything it has gained popularity and the number of golfers is ever increasing. Golf clubs have too changed with time over the long history of this sport. Here, however, we will be discussing a single type of golf clubs, namely; Hybrid clubs.

Hybrid Clubs

These type of clubs was launched in the ’90s and it has been a major step in sports. It made golfing a lot easier than it was before. It is easy to hit in the center of the clubface with hybrids. It makes the ball fly higher and land softer which means it is easy to pace and control long shots with hybrids.

Many times hybrids are confused for fairway woods but in reality, they both are different. However, hybrids and fairway woods share some characteristics hence the confusion. Woods used to be made of wood originally but now mostly metal is used and it includes only 3-wood, 5-wood, and 7-wood.

Coming back hybrids, they were called ‘rescue’ in the beginning due to their functionality. Hybrids are considered to be the best clubs to be used in a difficult location or when there is a difficult distance.

Hybrids were a hit as soon as they were launched because they combine characteristics of both iron and wood. It has a similar loft, a smaller clubhead, and a shorter shaft.

Distance Comparison Between Hybrids And Long Iron

Even though it is common knowledge between golfers that 3-hybrid can replace a 3-iron but it is also known that an average golfer can hit further with a hybrid. The difference typically is ten yards which are definitely cannot go unnoticed. Golfers find it easy to hit the ball with hybrid compared to iron. Golfers are more confident in their success when they have hybrids.

Now, the question here is why hybrids can give a difference of ten yards? Well, the main reason is the clubhead design.

Design of Clubhead

The design of hybrid clubhead is similar to long iron and mini-wood. However, the design also allows the center of gravity to be positioned further back than the long iron. This is the reason hybrid can provide higher ball trajectory although it has a similar loft. The shots from hybrid fly high lands softly and stop quickly. Sweep action matters a lot in golf and the tendency to sweep the ball off the turf is natural when using a hybrid.

EndNote

Every golfer needs to remember one thing that no matter what club you are using to achieve success in any sports, you need to be super fit. It is equally important that you warm up before the game. It is very easy to warm up before playing golf, all you need to do is search some best golf warm up tips and follow them. The main focus should be on your health and fitness because that is the only thing that can assure a long term victory.
