HRV is a relatively new and rapidly expanding field of medical research. HRV can tell you things about your sleep and health that your heart rate can't. Sleeping HRV, for example, has been found to be lower among people who sleep poorly. Furthermore, additional research indicates that sleeping HRV declines with aging.
