Does my pet qualify to travel in the passenger cabin?

Pets that meet the following requirements can travel in the passenger cabin:

• Your pet can stay comfortably in its kennel under the seat throughout the flight.
• Only domesticated dogs and cats are allowed.
• The cage is made specifically for the transport of animals and does not exceed 45 x 35 x 23 cm (length x width x height).
• The total weight of the animal together with the cage must not exceed 6 kg.
• A maximum of two dogs can share the same cage. A maximum of one cat is allowed in a kennel; Two cats are not allowed in the same cage.
• Passengers must carry with them the health certificates/vaccinations of the animal.

Pets that meet the following requirements may travel as checked baggage:

• Dogs and cats weighing more than 6 kg, with a box/cage larger than 45 x 35 x 23 cm, will be transported in the cargo compartment of the aircraft.
• Your pet can stay comfortably in its cage throughout the flight.
• A maximum of two dogs can share the same cage. A maximum of one cat is allowed in a kennel; Two cats are not allowed in the same cage. A maximum of three pups (less than six months old), born from the same mother at the same time, can be transported in the same box/cage.

Emotional Support/Service Animal

Turkish Airlines accepts service and emotional support dogs on all its flights to and from the United States of America. However, the dependent passenger must provide the airline with the necessary documents:

• A statement was issued by the veterinarian regarding the health of the pet.
• A written statement from the passenger regarding the pet's ability to relieve itself without posing any health or sanitation concerns.
• A letter from a doctor stating that the passenger is surviving with a recognized emotional disability in DSM IV or V and needs the dog to travel

Service Dog

Passengers who need to travel with an assistance dog for physical or psychological reasons must present a medical certificate indicating their requirements. Passengers who need to travel with an assistance dog must receive booking approval at least 48 hours before their flight. Your assistance dog, which will be transported free of charge, must be on a leash, muzzled, and remain at your feet throughout the journey.
