Post-Pandemic Security Landscape – Top Four Priorities for CISOs in 2022

The road ahead isn't smooth sailing for CISOs, as the hybrid work culture is still in its infancy and cybercriminals are doing what they do best. While implementing cyber security automation and adopting a zero-trust cyber security framework are good places to start, CISOs should better position themselves as cyber security pioneers in their companies.

The role of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) has gained significance, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, which saw a sharp increase in cyber-attacks After all, remote working, with all its advantages and features, expands the attack surface of enterprise infrastructure and applications.

In addition, it is more difficult to protect and monitor off-premises endpoints and application entry points. External threats are ever-evolving, there is a shortage of skilled cybersecurity experts, and it is difficult to monitor and manage systems remotely, making 2022 a difficult year for CISOs.

CISOs must go beyond the traditional job prescribed to them in order to maximize the security of their enterprises. CISOs must understand how their companies operate in addition to having technical knowledge and leadership qualities. This will enable them to determine which security projects will be beneficial for the organization.

Securing the Workforce

CISOs should make it a priority to keep everyone’s systems updated so that there are no endpoint vulnerabilities.
