Different types of stains

Blood

DO NOT use warm water to remove blood stains from the carpet as it will make the stain stick to the fabric. Apply club soda or cold water, and then blot with a fresh cloth. Repeat the process until the stain is completely gone

.

Candle Wax

Rub an ice pack on the candle wax till it hardens to remove it off the carpet. Break the wax gently, then vacuum the pieces up. Use a carpet cleaner and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations to treat the stain, or dab a white cloth lightly with rubbing alcohol to treat the spot. Dry the area by blotting it.

Chocolate

Use a dull knife to scrape as much chocolate residue from the carpet as you can. If the chocolate is melted, fill a plastic bag with ice cubes and place them over the stain to cool the residual chocolate before you scrape it off. Vacuum the area to collect any stray flakes or bits. Combine 14 teaspoon of liquid dish soap with 1 cup of warm water. Now apply the solution to the stain with a clean towel while working your way inward from the edges. Let it sit for five minutes and then blot the area thoroughly to remove the stain.

Coffee or tea

Combine 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide with 1 tablespoon of dish soap to remove coffee or tea stains from the carpet. Blot the stain first and then apply the solution. Let it sit for a few seconds, then carefully press the solution in with your fingers. Rinse the stain with water, blot, and repeat the process until the stain is completely removed.

Dirt

Allow mud or dirt stains on the carpet to dry completely before treating them. Firstly, scrape off as much residue as you can and then vacuum. Apply a detergent solution (such as mild dishwashing liquid, warm water, and white vinegar solution as mentioned above). Let it sit for 10 minutes and then use a clean white cloth or paper towel to blot it.

Fatty stains such as butter, gravy, etc.

For greasy carpet stains, use baking soda as a treatment method. Sprinkle baking soda on the stain, then leave it alone for six hours. After vacuuming, dab the area with a cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol. You can also use a dry-solvent spot carpet cleaner that can be found at many retail stores.

Gum

Peel away the gum as much as you can. Use a plastic bag filled with ice cubes and place it on the remaining gum. This will harden the gum. Now use a spoon or dull knife to chip away the gum. Vacuum and clean the remaining stain using a dry-solvent carpet cleaner.

Urine

Start by blotting up as much liquid as possible to remove urine stains from the carpet. Apply an enzymatic cleanser which is available in any retail outlet. Enzymes are used in this kind of carpet cleaning product to get rid of odor and stains.

Wine or Juice

Spritz the stained area using club soda if you spill red wine, white wine, grape juice, or any other beverage. Use a fresh microfiber cloth to wipe. Continue until the stain is removed.
