Desktop Buying Guide 2019: Things to consider while buying

To buy a desktop computer isn’t an easy task when you have both the thoughts of budget and performance together in your mind. Knowing the changing nature of computer technology world and keeping that in mind same time choosing the right machine for the “certain work purpose” it will serve for you for the “certain period of time” is very important.

This desktop buying guide from Star Tech will help you to figure out the things that you should consider and make the right choice while purchasing a desktop.

Budget is certainly a major issue:

The foremost amongst all the things that you should consider is budget. Why budget? Because your budget either it will give you the freedom to choose all the components you are about to put into your CPU or restrain you from choosing high priced high performing components.

Now let’s get to know about the CPU (Central Processing Unit) Components

Processor

Processor is the brain of the computer. The strongest the processor, the faster your computer performances will be. There are the only two best processor brands available in the market – Intel and AMD. Amongst them choosing the right one for your desktop computer will be pretty much tough job. Besides, the budget issue is another noteworthy factor here.

Intel offers the better performance while AMD is considered best option for gaming PC. Now it entirely depends on your need.

Another very important fact you should definitely consider about choosing your processor is that how much core it offers. The higher GHz or Gigahertz with multiple cores offers speedy performance. For example – a single core 2 GHz processor will surely perform drastically less than a 4 core 2 GHz processor.

Motherboard

Motherboard is basement or backbone of a computer which holds all the components as one unit and helps run the entire process. No other options but Intel or AMD, these two from which you are supposed to choose one for your desktop. But if you are expecting a gaming PC then AMD is a must choice.

RAM – it’s all about speed

You must consider least 4 GB RAM which is basic at present time. For most people 8 GB is most demanded to perform multiple functions at a time. But if you are an avid gamer or you work as a graphic designer or animator, or as an audio or a video editor you surely need least 16 GB RAM. From my own experience I can say that most animators prefer to have 32 GB RAM for faster production or render.

Hard Drive

Hard Drives are measured in Gigabyte (GB) or Terabyte (TB). It is best for you to choose 1 TB hard drive for your desktop PC. It’s not often hard to choose a hard drive.  But it is also true that the faster the hard drive speed is the faster you can get the information. Most hard drives run now at 7200rpm but few are available with the speed of 10000rpm. If you are expecting extra fast and you have ready to spend more cash on this purpose then certainly go for flash drive or SSD (Solid State Drive).

Optical Drives

DVD burner is very common in almost all the desktop computers. The need for optical drive in computer now is not excessive yet if you are about work on video editing and expecting to get high resolution video output, then you should go for Blu-ray with 16x recordable speed.

Graphics Card

Graphics card is another very important component of a desktop computer. Those who are expecting a gaming PC or wanting to work graphic design or video editing or even animation need the support of a good performing level Graphics card. Choose from AMD or NVIDIA to boost up your computer unhesitatingly.

The peripherals

The peripherals of your desktop computer depend entirely on your needs. You might need extra USB ports to connect more devices.

Some peripherals you might consider while buying desktop computer:

USB: Most devices are now connected via USB ports. The update and modern version of USB now available is called USB 3.0 and it has beat up its predecessors in speed. But also a new type upgraded USB name Type C is available in the market.

SD Port: Transferring photos from a camera to your computer is easier when you have a SD port and it will proof handy no matter if you are photography enthusiast or a professional. Also, Using a SD card could finely work as an addition to your overall desktop memory.

Internet/Wi-Fi: Why not getting an internal build-in Wi-Fi receiver instead of having a wire support internet. Besides, using an external Wi-Fi modem is often annoying.

Apart from CPU components you will need monitor, keyboard, mouse, sound system etc. Thanks to the technology world that you will get all these external yet must-need devices in affordable price range. Hoping this desktop buying guide will help you to choose the right one and get the best CPU price mentioned above all the things to consider having in mind.
