Shrubs and flowers are as beautiful as they are. But when you have problems with weeds, moss is a perfect option. Not only will it smother out the weeds, but it's also a great backdrop for those lovely vibrant blooms from flowering plants.
There are many different types of mosses and below we will deliberate on three types and uses for each in gardens.
Carpet Moss- This type moss is excellent for high traffic areas such as outdoor swings, to place between stepping stones and for use under outdoor recreational toys like swingsets and around sandboxes. It's thick, lush, and green year-round and provides a wonderful whimsical mood in the garden.
Cushion Moss- This variety of moss is padded, thick, and dense. Have a deeper green than most mosses makes it a favorite for topiaries and other statues. It can also be ground up with a buttermilk base as a paste to put on topiaries that have a smoother structure.
Hair Cap Moss- The hair cap moss is a frilly very soft and higher pile moss. It is excellent when utilized in gardens underneath shrubs or flower perennials. It's brighter in color and also stays lush and green year-round.
