iCloud not working

Why is my iCloud not working?

There can be many reasons why your iCloud is not working. It may be due to a problem with your system software. It can also be the reason that the iCloud server is down or iCloud is down at the time you are trying to access your iCloud account.

Or it could be that the internet connection you are using to access the iCloud service is weak. So, these are the probable reasons why you have reported my iCloud not working.

iCloud not working. How to fix iCloud problems

iCloud automatically syncs all of your content to all of your devices—iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and PC. It's a great service, and it's free. This article explains iCloud backup issues that you may encounter on your iOS device.

iCloud Backup requires a Wi-Fi Internet connection.

If you have a large amount of data, iCloud backups and restores can take time.

iCloud Backup can fail if you don't have at least 50 MB of available disk space on your device.

Automatic backups happen when your device is connected with the screen locked and also connected to Wi-Fi.

While downloading apps or songs, no backup will be done. It's a good idea to let it finish.

If you have Airplane Mode enabled, make sure Wi-Fi is also enabled.

Make sure you have enough space in iCloud. Otherwise, you can reduce the amount of data you want to download by changing your backup options OR buying more iCloud storage (you can downgrade your storage plan later if you want).

If you see the message "Backup not supported", it means that a specific application is causing problems. You may want to contact the producer of the application.

Email, Calendar, Contacts, Notes, Reminders, and iWorks Suite

iCloud stores everything to keep you up to date. All your contacts, emails, and any notes or reminders can be accessed from your iCloud account.

With iCloud, you have your inbox, calendar, contacts, and other valuable information in your pocket and on your desktop. When you delete an email, add a calendar event, update a contact, or check off a to-do, iCloud makes the changes everywhere.

iCloud storage

Your iCloud storage keeps all your valuable content safe and always available, even if you lose or replace a device. When you set up an Apple ID, you automatically get an iCloud storage account.

Customers automatically receive 5 GB of free storage, and Apple offers monthly plans for larger amounts of storage starting at $0.99/month for 50 GB – plenty of space for all the content that needs protection.

Disable and enable iCloud Sync

If you are facing a problem while syncing data with iCloud on your computer, turn it off and on again to fix it.

Step 1. Launch iCloud on your computer > Uncheck Calendars, Tasks, Emails, and Contacts.

Step 2. After that, restart your computer > Open iCloud again > Check all the boxes you unchecked before the restart > Then click "Apply".

iCloud does not sync data between devices

When it's running, iCloud syncs everything with no effort on your part. That means you can, for example, take a photo on one device and it will sync seamlessly with your other devices.

Unfortunately, iCloud doesn't always work perfectly. When that's the case, these iCloud troubleshooting tips can fix it. Try them one by one:

  • Power off your device and wait about a minute before restarting it.
  • Try streaming a video on YouTube or similar to test your internet connection. If it's slow, restart your router to see if that fixes it.
  • Go to Settings > [Your Name] on each device and make sure you're using the exact same Apple ID account. If not, please log in again with the correct details.
  • Visit Settings > [Your name] > iCloud and turn on each of the services you want to sync.
