Many of us have been forced to work from home or another remote place as a result of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. However, you may be startled to learn that your productivity can suffer as a result. It doesn't have to, though. When working remotely, you may be incredibly effective with a little strategy, discipline, and the correct productivity tools. Here are seven tips based on personal experience.

Communicate as much as possible with team members

Communication is essential for running a business, whether you're working in person or remotely. Customers and coworkers must be able to communicate with you in the same way they do now. When communication is harmed, trust and loyalty deteriorate as well. Fortunately, technology makes this one of the most manageable tasks. This can be accomplished using video conferencing, phone, chat, and task management technologies.

Check in regularly

Check-ins on a regular basis are beneficial for creating routines and ensuring that everyone is aware of what to expect. This allows participants to prepare crucial insight ahead of time, rather than being caught off guard and scrambling right before the meeting. It's also a great approach to acquire project updates before deadlines are missed or roadblocks become major stumbling blocks. Create a consistent check-in plan for the work day, week, or project to put this into effect.

Keep normal work hours

We are creatures of habit, and breaking up with your regular routine can cause you to lose focus. Maintaining as much 'normalcy' as possible while working remotely is a crucial step in increasing your productivity. Get up when you normally would. Dress in the clothing you'd regularly wear to work. At the same time, eat breakfast. Let's say you're having a regular lunch. Finish your work when you'd finish it if you were at the workplace. You'll be more productive if you dress and act as if you're truly in the office.

Use productivity tools

Project Management

Investing in a project management tool like Trello, regardless of the size of your team or the kind of projects you work on, can help you better manage all of the moving components. It will be easier to keep track of who is doing what and how each employee's responsibilities are progressing if you have this in your arsenal.

Communication & Collaboration

Using communication and collaboration technologies can assist each member of a remote working team have efficient discussions both internally and externally, saving time and energy. From text-only chat to live video calls, from in-person meetings to online video conferencing, there are tools making communicating with employees and clients easier and more affordable than ever. For online video conferencing, there are apps like Zoom. To call or message your employees and clients, you can also use a second phone number app or virtual phone system. To send or receive a fax, there are fax apps available on Windows, Mac, iOS or Android to fax without a fax machine. To share files, there are file sharing apps like Dropbox and Google Drive.

Time Management

Working remotely, on the other hand, means keeping yourself (and perhaps a team) accountable and establishing a framework or routine that helps you get things done effectively and on time. You can use effective time management tools to plan, execute, and organize your daily duties while staying on schedule. You can plan your daily schedule and make a to-do list with your daily tasks. You can make these tasks with to-do list tools, calendar or professional time tracking apps
